Lahore: Law enforcement authorities in Lahore have formally requested federal authorities to place three men on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL) after a 20 year old foreign woman was allegedly gang raped over the weekend.
The victim, who had travelled to Pakistan on a business trip, was targeted at a rented flat within a private housing society situated near Raiwind during the night between Friday and Saturday. The assault marks the second reported instance involving the gang rape of a foreign visitor within the jurisdiction of the Defence C police precinct over the past four months.
Following the assault, the suspects fled the provincial capital. Investigators managed to pinpoint the movement of one key suspect to Sialkot using digital tracking and location tracing.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran confirmed that all three suspects have been formally identified. Joint operational teams, led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Investigation Cantt Division Asim Iftikhar, are executing targeted raids across multiple districts.
To assist in locating the prime suspects, police have taken into custody two close relatives and a domestic employee belonging to one of the main accused.
The vehicle allegedly used during the commission of the offence has been seized for forensic inspection, and federal border control agencies remain on alert to prevent any exit attempts by the suspects.
