Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf (PTI) is set to begin its march towards Islamabad from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday after negotiations between the federal government and opposition failed to resolve their differences.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi says the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government withdrew from security commitments during the final stage of talks with the federal government after agreeing to a written accord and a 72 hour implementation plan.

Ministers have named an emergency and governor's rule as options for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but have not said they will use either. The Constitution sets different triggers, approvals and time limits for each, and one point is disputed. No proclamation has been issued.
