Islamabad: The first group of Sri Lanka’s cricket team has arrived in Islamabad ahead of the three match T20I series against Pakistan, which begins in Rawalpindi on October 9.
The 13 member contingent comprises eight players from Sri Lanka’s T20 squad and five members of the team management.
The players who arrived include captain Kusal Mendis, Dasun Shanaka, Maheesh Theekshana, Eshan Malinga, Kamindu Mendis, Lahiru Udara, Chamindu Wickramasinghe and Dunith Wellalage.
The remaining five members of the T20 squad are scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday. Sri Lanka’s head coach, two players and two other officials are also expected to reach the capital the same day.
The visitors will begin preparations for the series after the squad assembles in Pakistan.
All three matches will be played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The opening T20I is scheduled for October 9, followed by the second match on October 11 and the final match on October 13.
