The index traded between 165918.34 and 166698.46 during the session.
The All Share Index also gained 175.19 points to reach 101047.10.
These figures are intraday and do not represent Monday’s final close.

Local gold awaits fresh Monday fixing

Twenty four karat gold stands at PKR 439036 per tola, while 10 grams is priced at PKR 376402.
Silver’s latest confirmed domestic rate is PKR 6175 per tola.
These figures followed declines recorded on Saturday and should not be read as fresh Monday movements.
Internationally, however, spot gold rose 0.3 percent to USD 4175.60 per ounce on Monday morning as softer oil prices and expectations around US monetary policy supported the metal.
Fuel rates remain unchanged today
Petrol remains at PKR 386.30 per litre, while high speed diesel stands at PKR 396.96 per litre.
These prices came into effect on 17 October and remain applicable through 19 October.

Oil retreats from Friday surge
International crude prices moved lower on Monday.
Brent crude fell 2.08 percent to USD 107.57 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate declined 1.92 percent to USD 99.46.
The decline came after US President Donald Trump waived some sanctions and tariffs on Russia, raising expectations that more Russian fuel could reach global markets.
Prices, however, remain elevated amid continuing risks to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Weekly inflation remains slightly lower
Pakistan’s latest weekly Sensitive Price Indicator declined 0.04 percent in the week ended 16 October.
The combined SPI index eased from 372.58 to 372.43, while annual SPI inflation stood at 11.38 percent.
Tomatoes declined 23.05 percent week on week, onions 4.90 percent, sugar 0.62 percent and petrol 0.70 percent.
On the other hand, pulse gram rose 4.97 percent, wheat flour 3.36 percent, chicken 3.31 percent and diesel 0.47 percent.
Of the 51 essential items monitored, 23 became more expensive, seven declined and 21 remained unchanged.
Figures checked around 2:00 pm PKT. Intraday PSX, oil and international gold readings may change before markets close.
