Sahiwal: A 16 year old boy in Sahiwal has allegedly been sexually assaulted by four men after one of them contacted him with a promise to help make him a TikTok star, according to police.
The boy, who regularly posted videos on TikTok, was allegedly taken to a house in Chak 90/9 L after meeting one of the suspects at the Old Sabzi Mandi. Police said the suspects allegedly forced him to consume an intoxicating substance before the assault.
According to the police account, the boy was later left unconscious and subsequently told his mother what had happened. She approached Ghala Mandi police, following which a case was registered against four identified suspects under Sections 376(iii) and 176A of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Police said the victim had lost his father several years ago and lived with his widowed mother. The initial contact with one of the suspects reportedly began about a month before the alleged assault, when the man promised to help promote the teenager’s TikTok account.
The case highlights the risks minors can face when online platforms are used to establish contact under false or deceptive promises. Social media can allow strangers to build trust with young users before attempting to move conversations into private meetings.
The allegations remain subject to investigation and legal proceedings. The registration of an FIR does not by itself establish the guilt of the accused.
The incident also underlines the need for greater awareness among young social media users and their families about meeting online contacts in person. For minors in particular, offers involving account promotion, fame or financial opportunities can become a route through which strangers gain access to them.
