Karachi: Three armed dacoits were killed in a dual police shootout in Karachi’s Khawaja Ajmer Nagri area after robbing a citizen of cash and a mobile phone in the Hussainabad neighbourhood of Azizabad. The incident unfolded when the victim pursued the fleeing suspects, who were riding two motorcycles, and alerted a patrolling unit of the Shaheen Force from the Taimuria police station. Taimuria Police Station House Officer (SHO) Saqib Khan stated that the Shaheen Force personnel immediately initiated a chase, following the robbers into the territorial limits of the Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police station.
Khawaja Ajmer Nagri SHO Farrukh Hashmi confirmed that his station’s Shaheen Force units joined the pursuit to provide backup. The confrontation culminated in an exchange of gunfire between the joint police team and the suspects, resulting in the fatal shooting of all three robbers, including one older suspect. Police secured the scene, collected forensic evidence, and recovered two pistols, ammunition, as well as the stolen cash and mobile phone from the deceased suspects' possession.
The bodies of the three dacoits were subsequently shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities and official identification procedures. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh commended Deputy Inspector General (DIG) West Zone Irfan Ali Baloch, participating police officers, and the Shaheen Force personnel for their swift and decisive action.
