Islamabad: Istehkam i Pakistan Party (IPP) president Abdul Aleem Khan on Sunday said he was pleased to hear Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal's views on the possible demarcation of new provinces, saying that there needed to be a healthy debate on the issue in Pakistan. The IPP president said that new administrative units could help address growing public concerns more effectively and improve governance. , Khan also said that ordinary people were still deprived of basic necessities, including clean drinking water while millions of children remained out of school and hospitals across the country were in desperate condition.

Asking how that would be the case if the provinces were delivering services to citizens, Khan said there was a need to remove the “lens of prejudice” and look at the condition of the people adding that he didn't know how long elected representatives could answer these questions and placate people with slogans.

The IPP, he said, supported the creation of Hazara province and was ready to engage with all political parties and stakeholders on the matter.
