Karachi: Actors Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbas Khan are reportedly set to share the screen in Lahu, an upcoming Geo Entertainment drama directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain and written by Saqlain Abbas.
According to media reports, the project is linked to Geo Entertainment's drama Khai, which starred Durefishan Saleem and Faysal Quraishi. However, the nature of the connection, including whether Lahu will serve as a sequel or feature a separate storyline, has not been officially confirmed.
Khai explored tribal rivalries, revenge and longstanding family feuds in a Pashtun setting. The story centred on Zamda, played by Durefishan Saleem, whose life was transformed after her family became the target of a violent feud. Faysal Quraishi portrayed Chanar Khan, a central figure in the conflict.
Filming for Lahu is reportedly scheduled to begin in November, with Hunza and Nathia Gali among the proposed locations. Further details about the plot and supporting cast remain undisclosed.
Director Syed Wajahat Hussain is currently associated with Mitti De Baway, starring Mahira Khan and Wahaj Ali. The drama has attracted attention for its production design, costumes, dialogue and direction.
Sajal Aly was recently seen in Hum TV's Zanjeerein, which drew some criticism on social media over its editing. Her earlier drama Aangan is also being rerun on Hum TV and YouTube. She is widely recognised for her performance in Yaqeen Ka Safar, among other projects.
Bilal Abbas Khan, meanwhile, recently appeared opposite Hania Aamir in Meri Zindagi Hai Tu, which received a positive response from viewers.
The reported casting has generated interest among Pakistani drama audiences, particularly as it would bring Sajal and Bilal together in another television project.
Geo Entertainment has yet to announce an official release date for Lahu, while confirmation of its storyline and connection to Khai is still awaited.
