Karachi: Pakistani actors Sheheryar Munawar and Zara Noor Abbas have reportedly signed a new film directed by Saqib Khan, with the project said to be associated with the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Dr Ejaz Waris shared the development on Instagram, saying the two actors were preparing to work together on a new film and that shooting was expected to begin soon.
However, neither Munawar nor Abbas has publicly confirmed the project. No official announcement has been made about the film's title, storyline, production schedule, or release date. The reported casting would bring the two actors together again after their appearance in the 2019 Pakistani film Parey Hut Love, directed by Asim Raza.
Munawar and Abbas previously worked together in Parey Hut Love, released in August 2019. Asim Raza directed the film, which featured Maya Ali opposite Munawar, alongside Ahmed Ali Butt and an ensemble cast.
Munawar played Sheheryar, an aspiring actor reluctant to commit to marriage, while Abbas portrayed Shabbo. Munawar also helped produce the film. Their reported reunion would mark another on screen collaboration, though the nature of their characters and whether they will appear The reported involvement of ISPR places the project within a history of Pakistani screen productions associated with the military's media wing.
Such productions have included stories centred on military service, national security and the experiences of personnel and their families. However, the subject of the reported new film remains unknown, and its association with ISPR does not establish its genre or storyline.
Director Saqib Khan has also been associated with Sheroes, a 2026 anthology film featuring Abbas alongside Ushna Shah and Kinza Hashmi. That production was developed as part of an initiative involving the Sindh Information Department and the provincial government.
The production company, supporting cast, filming locations, and distribution arrangements for the new project have not been announced. Waris's Instagram post is currently the basis of the casting report. Neither actor has publicly confirmed it, and no official statement from the filmmakers or ISPR has been independently established.
Further details are expected to clarify the project's production arrangements and whether filming will begin as reported.
