Lahore: Pakistani singer Shanzy Sial is gaining attention on social media after her rendition of the Punjabi song “Jhalry Jhalry Wal” reached 27.1 million views on Instagram.
The video shows Sial performing the song alongside an acoustic guitarist. The performance has circulated beyond Pakistan, including among social media users in India, where listeners have praised her rendition.
A full version of “Jhalry Jhalry Wal” is also available on Spotify, allowing listeners to hear the complete recording beyond the viral Instagram clip.
The latest response follows Sial’s earlier cover of “Sammi Meri Waar”, which also circulated widely online and helped introduce her performances to a broader social media audience.
“Sammi” belongs to Punjab’s folk tradition and has been performed in different forms by singers over the years. Sial’s rendition brought the folk composition to audiences through social media.
Her recent performances have focused on Punjabi music, with Instagram and streaming platforms helping her work reach listeners in Pakistan and across the border.
