Rawalpindi: Police investigators probing the murder of digital designer Hina Javed have made key evidentiary breakthroughs in the Lal Kurti homicide case. During a ten day physical inquiry conducted at the Civil Lines Police Station, officers recovered the alleged murder weapon a screwdriver from the possession of suspect Zeeshan Arshad, alongside a length of rope used in the commission of the crime.

Additionally, the investigation team retrieved official marriage certificates (nikahnamas) pertaining to both wives of the primary suspect and victim's ex husband, Faisal Asghar, as well as the formal divorce deed of his first wife, Iram Zaib. Both arrested suspects have undergone extensive forensic evaluations, including DNA sampling and polygraph examinations. With their ten day physical remand concluding today, police are scheduled to produce the suspects before the magistrate for their fourth court appearance on Wednesday, September second. Legal observers indicate that the prosecution is likely to request their transfer to Adiala Jail on judicial remand as primary evidence collection draws to a close.

Meanwhile, investigating officers have sought formal authorisation from senior police leadership to arrest a third suspect the deceased’s father in law. Concurrently, defence counsel representing the accused are actively petitioning authorities to clear the father in law of involvement and remove his name from the case file ahead of the upcoming court hearing.
