Islamabad: Ambassador Sajjad Haider Khan will assume charge as the new spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office, replacing Ambassador Tahir Andrabi, according to the information provided.

Khan brings extensive diplomatic experience to the role, having served in a number of overseas postings as well as holding several key positions at the Foreign Office.

His diplomatic assignments have included Berlin, Budapest, Jakarta, Damascus and Minsk. The postings have given him experience across a range of regions and bilateral relationships during his diplomatic career.

At the Foreign Office, Khan has also held senior positions involving both regional and administrative responsibilities. He has served as Director Africa, where he was responsible for work relating to Pakistan’s engagement with African countries.

He has also held the position of Director General Services, a senior administrative role within the Foreign Office. In addition, he served as Director Organization & Career Planning.

Khan will take over the spokesperson’s responsibilities from Ambassador Tahir Andrabi. The Foreign Office spokesperson is responsible for communicating Pakistan’s official position on foreign policy and diplomatic matters and for briefing the media on developments concerning the country’s external relations.

The change brings an experienced diplomat with assignments in Europe, Asia and the Middle East to the Foreign Office’s principal public communications role.

Khan’s previous postings and positions at the Foreign Office are expected to form the basis of his experience in handling the range of diplomatic and organisational issues covered by the ministry.

He will now assume responsibility for representing the Foreign Office in its regular engagement with the media and communicating its official positions.
