Web Desk: Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman arrived in the Saudi coastal city of Jeddah on Tuesday for a private fraternal visit, holding high level discussions with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. Upon his arrival at the Royal Pavilion of King Abdulaziz International Airport, Sultan Haitham was received directly by the crown prince. A distinguished reception delegation was present on the tarmac, including Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, and Saudi Ambassador to Oman Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan, alongside Makkah Region Police Director Major General Saleh Al Jabri and Jeddah Mayor Ihsan Bafakih.
Following the formal reception, the two leaders convened at the crown prince's residence in Jeddah to review the deep rooted bilateral ties uniting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman. During the talks, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Sultan Haitham explored promising opportunities to expand strategic cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, energy, transport, and technology, aimed at serving the mutual interests of both nations.
Beyond bilateral economics, the two leaders conducted a comprehensive review of recent developments across the regional and international landscape. Discussions focused heavily on joint diplomatic approaches to promote deescalation, safeguarding regional peace, and preserving security to protect regional economies and national interests.
The high level bilateral meeting was attended by senior government ministers and state officials from both nations. The Omani delegation included Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs HH Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Minister of the Royal Office Gen. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nu’amani, Minister of Interior Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Head of the Private Office Dr Hamad bin Said Al Aufi, President of the Oman Investment Authority Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology Eng. Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Energy and Minerals Eng. Salim bin Nassir Al Aufi, and Omani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sayyid Najeeb bin Hilal Al Busaidi.
Representing the Saudi side alongside the Crown Prince were Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal, Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Minister of Commerce Dr Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi, Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al Khatib, Minister of Transport and Logistics Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, Minister of Investment Fahd bin Abdul Jalil Al Saif, Chief of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali Al Humaidan, and Saudi Ambassador to Oman Ibrahim bin Saad bin Bishan.
At the conclusion of the visit, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, accompanied by senior Saudi dignitaries, saw Sultan Haitham off at the Royal Pavilion of King Abdulaziz International Airport as the Omani monarch departed Jeddah.
