Islamabad: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced scheduled power suspensions across several areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Tuesday, September 8, as it carries out annual maintenance and development work on its electricity network.
The shutdowns will affect selected feeders in the Islamabad Operation Circle, Rawalpindi City and Rawalpindi Cantt. The duration of each interruption will vary depending on the feeder and work being carried out.
In Islamabad, scheduled interruptions include areas such as Scheme I and II, Green Avenue, Khana Dak, Sohan, Zia Masjid and Iqbal Town. In Rawalpindi, affected locations include parts of Allama Iqbal Colony, Kamalabad, Ghaziabad and surrounding areas, according to the published schedule.
IESCO has described the interruptions as temporary and linked to maintenance and construction work intended to improve its electricity distribution network.
The company has advised consumers in affected areas to plan their activities accordingly and cooperate with its teams while the scheduled work is completed. Power supply is expected to resume according to the timetable issued for each feeder, although restoration can vary depending on the work involved.
