This world is full of drama that very few of us know how to handle. The world of social media is far removed from reality. A lot of us tend to get upset with the posts, tweets and pictures we see on social media.
The rest of us get stressed out because of family and friend’s issues, our health problems, uptight bosses, and our partners not being able to give us enough attention.
Imagine you are a single mother and your father is admitted at the hospital because he is sick. You live with your daughter in a small apartment and there is no one to pick and drop her from school which results in your horrible boss being really harsh with you.
He wants you to stay late in the office and submit work on time but your routine is busier than usual so you are not able to do so. What do you do? Your life seems pretty complicated. How do you deal with the dilemma?
On the one hand, you wish you could pull out your hair, scream your lungs out and run from your problems while on the other hand, you can’t stop thinking about just leaving your father and daughter because you know these problems are temporary and you just need to be strong to figure out ways to get over them.
Let’s discuss signs you may be suffering from emotional distress:
Frustration and insomnia
All of us have problems in life, both big and small. If we are not able to deal with them, we tend to overthink. Overthinking leads to frustration which further leads to insomnia; difficulty sleeping at night.
We stay up all night thinking about our problems and creating ways in our mind to overcome those problems. During this process, negative thoughts hit us and we think of all the scenarios that haven’t occurred yet or might never occur.
Physical side effects
In addition to frustration and insomnia, the problems in our life can also lead to physical side effects in our body. For example, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, headaches, and digestive problems etc.
These physical symptoms are enough to scare you. It’s therefore best to not neglect these side effects as they can lead to greater problems later.
Mood swings
Mood swings are pretty normal. Everyone goes through them and they are a natural part of our lives. During mood swings, we tend to feel irritated and everything around us tends to upset us. During mood swings, we often find it difficult to communicate with other people and also tend to respond to situations illogically.
Loss of patience
When you start to lose patience, it affects you, as well as the people in your surroundings. Your family, friends, and coworkers sometimes don’t understand your situation and the reason behind it.
You tend to get angry at every little thing that probably doesn’t even matter after 5 minutes and begin to jump to conclusions. The above stated 3 signs can be so effective that you can end up losing your patience.
Sometimes in our lives, we feel as though the earth is tearing apart, makes us the feel utterly hopeless. At this point in our lives, we alone are responsible for our actions and we alone can decide how to overcome our problems.
It’s important to make sure we don’t hurt others while dealing with the dilemma we are going through. Perhaps we can get out of our houses, talk to random people, show positivity, and relax because with time, everything always falls into the right place.
