Islamabad: China’s Guangdong hockey team has arrived in Pakistan for a series of matches against departmental and domestic sides, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said.

PHF officials and representatives welcomed the players and team officials with flower garlands and bouquets at a traditional reception.

The visiting side is scheduled to compete in different Pakistani cities, providing local players with an opportunity to test their skills against overseas opposition.

According to the federation, the tour aims to promote hockey and expand sporting exchanges between Pakistan and China.

PHF said the matches would help Pakistani players develop their skills through competitive exposure and provide a platform for closer cooperation between the two countries.

The federation described the visit as an opportunity to strengthen bilateral friendship through sport.
