Paris: Céline Dion made a triumphant and emotional return to live performance on Saturday, September 12, 2026, opening a sold out 26 date residency at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre, west of Paris. Singing to an enthralled crowd of 30,000 fans, the 58 year old French Canadian icon broke down in tears of joy seconds into her opening number her 1990s French language ballad "On ne change pas" ("One Doesn't Change") marking her first full length concert in more than six years.

The landmark performance represents a remarkable personal victory for Dion, following years away from regular touring due to the COVID 19 pandemic and her subsequent 2022 diagnosis with stiff person syndrome. Addressing the audience in both French and English, Dion reflected on her arduous battle with the incurable neurological disorder, telling the arena, "The path was rockier than expected, but I held on to a faint ray of light, Tonight, I want to sing for you, sing for myself, sing for life."
