Quetta: Rail services from Balochistan to other parts of the country have resumed after a two-day suspension for repair and maintenance work on the railway track, according to railway authorities.

The Jaffar Express service from Quetta to Peshawar, which was cancelled on September 5 and 6, has resumed following the completion of the scheduled maintenance work.

The Peshawar-Quetta Jaffar Express, which was temporarily restricted to Jacobabad during the maintenance period, has also resumed its service towards Quetta.

The two-day suspension had affected passengers travelling to and from Quetta, particularly those relying on rail transport for intercity journeys.

Meanwhile, other train services connecting Balochistan with neighbouring regions remain suspended. The Bolan Mail service between Quetta and Karachi has been suspended for around six months, while the Chaman Passenger service has also remained suspended for around the same period.

The restoration of the Jaffar Express follows the completion of the track repair and maintenance work that led to the temporary suspension.

Railway authorities have not provided further details on when the other suspended services will resume.
