Karachi: Pakistani actor Faysal Quraishi is reportedly set to make a cameo appearance in Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 3, joining the cast of the upcoming comedy film directed by Nadeem Baig and produced by Humayun Saeed.
The development was shared by entertainment page Lollywood World on social media, which claimed that Quraishi would appear in a guest role. However, the film's production team has not independently confirmed his involvement or disclosed details of the reported appearance. The third instalment of the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani franchise is currently in production, with filming taking place in the United Kingdom.
The cast includes Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Mehwish Hayat, Vasay Chaudhry and Ahmed Ali Butt. Yasir Hussain and singer Aima Baig have also been associated with the project, with reports suggesting that Baig could make her acting debut.
Franchise returns after eight years
The film follows Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, released in 2015, and its sequel, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, which reached cinemas in 2018. Both films were directed by Nadeem Baig and produced under Humayun Saeed's Six Sigma Plus banner, in association with ARY Films.
The franchise follows a group of friends through relationships, marriage and situations involving their families. Its previous instalments contributed to the commercial growth of Pakistani cinema, with the second film becoming one of the country's highest-grossing releases at the time. The third film brings back members of the original production team, with Vasay Chaudhry returning as a writer.
Quraishi's reported role awaits confirmation
Quraishi has worked across Pakistani television and cinema, with credits including Bashar Momin, Muqaddar and Fitoor. His reported appearance would add another television actor to the film's ensemble. The nature of his role, the scenes in which he may appear and whether he has joined filming have not been disclosed.
The production has also not announced a confirmed theatrical release date.
With filming continuing, further announcements about the cast and release schedule are expected from the producers. For now, Quraishi's participation remains a social media report rather than a confirmed casting announcement.
