London: Pop star Ariana Grande has officially begun an extended break from the spotlight after ending her Eternal Sunshine tour at London’s O2 Arena on September 1.
Wrapping up a 10 day residency in the UK, the 33 year old singer thanked fans through tears on stage, calling the 41 day tour one of the most extraordinary experiences of her life. The performance marks the start of her pre announced step back from public facing work to recover from ongoing scrutiny. Despite stepping away, Grande remains in the running for Artist of the Year at the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards.
Prior to her emotional final night, Grande maintained her trademark connection with concertgoers by sharing backstage moments on social media, even reassuring followers after swapping her famous six inch platform boots following a foot injury. Fans honored her signature look throughout the residency, filling the arena in high heels, cat ears, and ponytails as the singer concluded the final set with a dramatic sci fi stage ascension.
