Muzaffarabad: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gillani has directed authorities to operationalise the AJK Digital Portal to provide government services online.
According to an official, the portal will allow residents and members of the AJK diaspora living abroad, to access services without having to make repeated visits to government offices.
The first phase will include government services that can be shifted to digital platforms. Further services are expected to be integrated as the system develops.
The initiative is intended to reduce paperwork and the time and cost involved in accessing government services, while enabling citizens to submit requests through an online platform.
The AJK government is working with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) on the project, drawing on its technical expertise and institutional experience.
The portal is part of the AJK IT Department’s 100 day reform agenda, which includes measures to develop IT infrastructure and move government service delivery to digital platforms.
