Islamabad: Gold and silver prices in Pakistan registered a sharp decline on Friday, September 11, 2026, tracking a broader retreat in international bullion markets despite heightened geopolitical uncertainty. According to data released by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24 karat gold plunged by Rs 5,600 per tola to settle at Rs 456,736. Correspondingly, 10 grams of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 4,801 to Rs 391,577, while 10 grams of 22 karat gold dropped to Rs 358,958.
The domestic downturn mirrored international developments, where spot gold fell by USD 56 to USD 4,342 per ounce. Silver followed suit, with local prices falling by Rs 253 per tola to Rs 6,871, alongside a USD 2.53 drop internationally to USD 63.92 per ounce.
Market analysts attribute the shift to broader macroeconomic pressures: whilst ongoing conflict between the US and Iran pushed Brent crude to a four-month high of USD 109.97 a barrel, rising energy costs have sparked renewed inflation fears and expectations of tighter Federal Reserve interest rate policy, prompting a USD 15.52 billion net outflow from global equity funds.
