Islamabad: Pakistan and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China have agreed to explore new avenues of mutual economic interest while reaffirming their commitment to deepen trade ties, economic cooperation, and people-to-people linkages.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal and the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, John Lee Ka-Chiu, in Hong Kong.

During the meeting, both sides expressed a shared commitment to further strengthen existing bilateral cooperation and work together to identify fresh opportunities for joint economic growth.

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-Chiu commended Minister Jam Kamal for his address at the Belt and Road Summit. He particularly noted the Minister's emphasis on international cooperation, regional connectivity, and shared economic prosperity.

Reiterating Pakistan’s foreign policy priorities, Jam Kamal highlighted Islamabad’s unwavering commitment to its historic relationship with China. He further stressed the importance Pakistan attaches to expanding its trade and economic partnership specifically with Hong Kong.
