Islamabad: Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan has officially assumed his responsibilities as Pakistan’s first non resident Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia, presenting his Letters of Credence to Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan during a formal ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Yerevan.
President Khachaturyan welcomed the envoy, offering full support to expand bilateral engagement, whilst Ambassador Khan conveyed greetings from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, reiterating Islamabad's commitment to building durable bilateral relations.
The diplomatic ceremony represents a significant landmark in Pakistan Armenia relations, following the formal establishment of diplomatic ties between the two nations in 2025. During his visit to Yerevan, Ambassador Khan who concurrently serves as Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates held high level meetings with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan.
Discussions focused on enhancing economic cooperation, expanding trade and investment, and fostering cultural and educational exchanges between the two countries.
