London: Hollywood actors Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz have reportedly reunited on the set of The Mummy 4 in London, bringing together the original stars of the popular adventure franchise after 25 years.
The actors, who portrayed Rick and Evelyn O'Connell in the first two films, were recently spotted together during filming for the upcoming instalment.
Their reunion marks a return to the franchise that helped establish The Mummy as one of Hollywood's most recognisable action adventure series.
Fraser and Weisz first appeared together in The Mummy in 1999, directed by Stephen Sommers. The film followed adventurer Rick O'Connell and Egyptologist Evelyn Carnahan as they encountered an ancient Egyptian curse.
The pair reprised their roles in The Mummy Returns in 2001, which continued their characters' adventures and expanded the franchise's supernatural storyline.
While Fraser returned for the third instalment, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008, Weisz did not reprise her role, with Maria Bello replacing her as Evelyn.
Their reported return in the fourth film would therefore mark their first appearance together as Rick and Evelyn since 2001.
Fraser, who experienced a major career resurgence following his Academy Award winning performance in The Whale in 2022, has previously expressed enthusiasm about returning to the adventure franchise.
The actor has also teased details about the upcoming project in recent media appearances, although specific information about the storyline remains limited.
Weisz, meanwhile, has continued working across film and television, appearing in productions including The Favourite, Black Widow and Dead Ringers.
The original Mummy films became widely recognised for combining action, adventure, comedy and supernatural elements, developing a substantial international fan following.
The reunion of Fraser and Weisz has attracted attention among fans who have long hoped to see the original characters return to the screen.
Although filming activity has reportedly been observed in London, further details about the film's supporting cast, plot and production schedule have yet to be confirmed.
The Mummy 4 is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 15 October 2027, bringing Rick and Evelyn O'Connell back to the franchise more than two decades after their last adventure together.
