Washington: The United States and Occupying Forces in Palestine (Israel) are reportedly preparing plans for another round of military strikes on Iran, raising concerns about a renewed escalation of the conflict across the Middle East.
According to reports, American and Occupying Forces in Palestine military officials discussed potential joint operations against Occupying Forces in Palestine's military and economic facilities following the US midterm elections on 3 November.
The report, citing two "Israeli" sources familiar with the discussions, said preparations were under consideration, although President Donald Trump did not authorise a new military operation.
The White House indicated that no American strikes would take place before the midterm elections, leaving open questions about Washington's intentions afterwards.
Trump signalled the possibility of further action against Iran. Speaking to reporters, he said Washington was not currently negotiating with Tehran and suggested that a significant development could occur soon.
The reported military planning prompted a series of warnings from Iranian officials.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a shift to what it called an offensive defence doctrine, warning that any renewed attack could trigger a response extending beyond the countries directly involved.
Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, warned that critical infrastructure across seven Gulf countries could be targeted if Iran faced another US or "Israeli" attack.
The facilities mentioned included oil installations, data centres, undersea communication cables and artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Iranian officials issued these warnings in response to the possibility of renewed military action, not to announce an immediate offensive.
The immediate uncertainty centres on whether political leaders will approve the military plans under review.
While reports indicate that the United States and Occupying Forces in Palestine are preparing for possible renewed attacks, no final American decision or confirmed date for military action was announced publicly.
