Lahore: A Crime Control Department (CCD) police official was booked over allegations of sexually assaulting a woman twice in Lahore's Kahna area after reportedly contacting her under the guise of recovering her missing mobile phone.
According to the first information report (FIR), the complainant, a resident of Kot Lakhpat, lost her phone while visiting Kahna Bazaar on October 1.
She later approached Kahna Police Station to report the missing phone and met the CCD official.
The victim alleged that the suspected CCD obtained her phone number and later informed her that her phone was recovered.
According to the FIR, the suspected officials asked her to meet them on Ahlu Road before taking her to another woman's private residence.
The victim accused the suspect of threatening her, sexually assaulting her, and recording a video of her without her consent.
She further alleged that the official contacted her again in October and summoned her to the same residence, where she was sexually assaulted for a second time.
The woman subsequently went to Kahna Police Station to lodge a complaint against the official.
However, according to her account, police initially delayed registering the case.
She then presented her complaint at an open court held by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Faisal Kamran.
Following the intervention, police registered an FIR at Kahna Police Station and initiated an investigation.
The allegations raise questions about accountability within law enforcement, particularly when an officer accused of misconduct is also alleged to use his official position to gain the complainant's trust.
The reported delay in registering the woman's complaint also highlighted the difficulties people may face when seeking legal action against police personnel.
Police confirmed they registered the case, but the allegations remain under investigation and subject to judicial proceedings.
