Karachi: Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Wahaj Ali are reportedly set to share the screen in a television film titled Wo Ek Raat, with entertainment reports suggesting that the project is being planned for release next year.
The production has been described in social media reports as a high budget telefilm, although its reported budget, financing arrangements and production schedule have not been independently confirmed.
Neither actor has publicly confirmed their involvement in the project, and no official announcement has been reported from the production team.
The possibility of the two actors appearing together has generated discussion among television viewers, particularly because they have established their careers through different periods of Pakistan's entertainment industry.
Earlier entertainment reports had already linked Khan and Ali to Woh Ek Raat in March 2025. At the time, the telefilm was reported to be written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Shehzad Kashmiri for HUM TV. Subsequent reports suggested a June 2025 broadcast, but the latest claims point to a possible 2027 release without explaining the apparent delay.
Another collaboration for Khan and Ali
The actors are also associated with the television drama Mitti De Baway, written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain.
The drama has brought the two performers together in a story involving love, separation and changing relationships. Its promotional material, released earlier this year, attracted attention from viewers and fellow actors.
Khan's television career includes Humsafar and Sadqay Tumhare, while Ali gained wider recognition through productions including Tere Bin. Their reported collaboration reflects the television industry's continued interest in pairing established performers from different generations of Pakistani drama.
Unlike a television serial, a telefilm tells its story within a single production, offering writers and directors a different format for developing characters and narratives.
For Woh Ek Raat, however, questions remain about the final cast, broadcast platform, production budget and release schedule. Until the makers issue an announcement, the reported 2027 premiere should be treated as tentative.
