Webdesk: The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has released the HSSC Part I 2026 results, with 67848 students passing the examination.

The FBISE announced the results of the HSSC Part I First Annual Examination 2026 on Wednesday, with the official result portal now available for students. The board also released the result gazette containing the detailed examination statistics.

A total of 106508 candidates were enrolled for the examination, of whom 105108 appeared. The remaining 1400 candidates were absent. Of those who appeared, 67848 candidates passed, giving an overall pass rate of 65.31 per cent, while 35566 candidates failed one or more subjects.

Regular candidates performed considerably better than private candidates. The pass rate for regular students stood at 67.59 per cent, compared with 21.75 per cent among ex and private candidates. Regular candidates accounted for 66333 of the successful students, while 1515 private candidates passed.

Among the major groups, Pre Engineering recorded the highest pass rate among regular students at 79.55 per cent, followed by Pre Medical at 76.86 per cent and General and Computer Science at 68.54 per cent. Humanities recorded a pass rate of 48.99 per cent, while Commerce had the lowest rate at 35.78 per cent.

The results also showed a significant gender gap across several academic groups, with female students recording higher pass rates than male students in the major streams. Dawn reported that girls secured 11 of the 15 available positions across the five groups in the 2026 intermediate examinations.

The board recorded 496 unfair means cases during the examination. It also listed 1224 cases as Result Later and withheld 470 results because of pending requirements such as eligibility or fee related issues.

Students can check their results through the official FBISE result portal by entering their roll number. The board also allows candidates to obtain results through SMS by sending their roll number in the prescribed format to 5050.

The 65.31 per cent pass rate means that nearly two thirds of the students who appeared cleared all their subjects, while more than 35000 candidates will need to address failed papers or pending requirements. The result therefore offers both a measure of overall performance and an indication of where students and institutions may need greater academic support.
