Islamabad: The federal capital witnessed a concerning surge in crime on Thursday as the Islamabad Capital Police registered at least twelve separate abduction and disappearance cases in a single day. The reported incidents span several sectors and include the theft of a newborn infant, the abduction of young women, missing drivers, and disappearances involving minors and factory workers across areas such as PIMS Hospital, I-9/4, Sihala, Garden Town, and Model Town.
In one of the most high profile incidents, three women abducted a newborn baby boy from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). The child was swiftly recovered after the infant's family members, a lady doctor, and a security guard tracked down the suspects outside the premises and handed them over to the police under Section 364 A of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Elsewhere, police registered cases involving a married woman abducted with her vehicle in Sector I-9/4, a young man taken from Garden Town by unidentified individuals, an online cab driver who vanished along with his car, and several missing teenage girls across Sihala, Model Town, and Naiabadi Bhara Kahu.
