Quetta: Security forces killed six terrorists in an intelligence based operation in Balochistan’s Kachhi district, as counterterrorism operations continued across the province.
Quadcopters were used to target terrorists in the Sanni area. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also recovered. The terrorists were affiliated with Fitna al Hindustan (FaH), commonly known as BLA.
The Kachhi operation follows several engagements during September. Security forces killed two terrorists in Chagai on September 29. Earlier, the military’s media wing said on September 27 that more than 71 terrorists had been killed in Shaban and other parts of Balochistan over the preceding 96 hours.
Separate operations killed three terrorists in Awaran’s Badrang area on September 17 and another three in Mastung on September 14. Authorities also reported 21 terrorists killed in engagements in Nokcha, Chagai, Ziarat Cross and Pishin earlier that month.
The sequence comes against a rise in attacks. The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies recorded 89 terrorist attacks in Balochistan in August, compared with 83 in July, an increase of approximately seven percent.
Those figures provide the backdrop to the intensified operations: security forces are conducting engagements across multiple districts while the province faces sustained militant activity.
