Karachi: Pakistani actor Zara Noor Abbas has unveiled the official trailer for Gear Up, her individual segment in the upcoming anthology film Sheroes. Portraying a police officer in what marks a major departure towards action heavy roles, Abbas shared the visual first look on social media ahead of the segment's teaser release on September 8. Written by Hashim Nadeem and directed by Saqib Khan, Gear Up also features Asad Siddiqui and Rashid Farooqi in key roles. Presented by Tamasha Films as an initiative of the Sindh Information Department, the overall anthology brings together three independent stories anchored by Abbas, Kinza Hashmi, and Ushna Shah. Sheroes is scheduled for a nationwide theatrical release across Pakistan on September 18, 2026.
In contrast to traditional drama roles, Abbas’ chapter appears to be the most overtly action oriented of the three. In the newly released trailer footage, her character is seen in tactical police gear, complete with gloves and firearms, navigating intense scenarios involving high speed vehicle chases, bomb disposal operations, and tactical responses. Accompanying the footage, Abbas reflected on the demanding nature of the role, stating that the project represents "a story of courage under pressure" and hinting that the released material is merely an introduction to the larger narrative.
The anthology structure of Sheroes allows each of its three leads to inhabit a distinctly different world while exploring independent themes of women facing their own battles. The promotional rollout commenced earlier with Kinza Hashmi’s segment, Artist, which explores the world of art and forgery alongside co stars Nayyer Ejaz, Nazar Ul Hasan, and Ahmad Hassan. With Gear Up taking center stage next, the final chapter starring Ushna Shah is expected to receive its spotlight as the production approaches its nationwide premiere later this month.
