Riyadh: The Saudi led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthi movement said on Thursday, October 15, that it intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile over the Medina region in western Saudi Arabia.
Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al Maliki announced the missile interception in an X post but did not identify its origin or intended target.
The coalition did not immediately provide information about casualties or damage from either interception.
The Houthis denied the attack and called the Saudi enemy claims false.
The incidents followed Wednesday's announcement that coalition forces intercepted a ballistic missile launched by Yemen's Houthi movement towards Riyadh.
The Houthis separately claimed that they targeted King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital with a ballistic missile. Reports did not independently verify the extent of any damage from the alleged attack.
The coalition also accused the Houthis of using a drone to attack the Taibah electricity distribution station in Medina on 29 September.
The latest interceptions occur amid renewed hostilities between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis after the breakdown of a previous truce.
