Seoul: South Korean group BTS has accumulated 10 billion Spotify streams in 2026, becoming the first group to reach that annual milestone, according to its label, Big Hit Music.
The label announced the achievement on October 16, with the group’s fifth full length album, Arirang, accounting for five billion streams since its March release.
According to the announcement, Arirang has generated more streams than any other album released this year. Its contribution represents half of BTS’s annual total, placing the release at the centre of the group’s latest streaming achievement.
The album also made a strong debut on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global chart. On its release day, all 14 tracks occupied the chart’s top 14 positions, including the instrumental track “No. 29”.
The streaming milestone comes as the seven member group continues its Arirang world tour in South America.
BTS is in Santiago, Chile, for three concerts scheduled to conclude on October 17. The group will then perform three shows each in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and São Paulo, Brazil, before returning to Asia.
Fans outside the concert venues will also be able to watch selected performances through cinema screenings around the world.
The final Buenos Aires concert is scheduled for cinema viewing on October 24, followed by the final São Paulo performance on October 30.
The announcement brings together two parts of the group’s current activities: the continued streaming performance of its March album and a tour taking its music to audiences across several continents.
