Rawalpindi: CDF Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in Wah to review the complex's production capabilities and indigenisation efforts, ISPR said on Saturday. The CDF's visit focused on reviewing the POF's production capabilities, export potential and contributions towards the country’s defence industrial base, the military's media wing said in a statement.

During the visit, Field Marshal Munir was briefed on various aspects of POF's operations and its role in strengthening national defence through the indigenous development and production of a diverse range of military equipment.

He also witnessed the tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured arms and ammunition, highlighting the complex's commitment to innovation, self reliance and enhancing the country's defence production capabilities, according to a statement by the ISPR.

Field Marshal Munir was presented with an overview of the progress on the corporatisation process following the enactment of the Defence Industrial Production and Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DIPRA) Ordinance, it added. The CDF was also apprised about ongoing indigenisation and upgrade efforts through the installation of two new industrial plants, which are likely to commence production by the end of the ongoing year.

The visit underscored the military's commitment to advancing self reliance, indigenous production and technological innovation in the country's defence sector, the ISPR said.
